Casting about for an explanation of the baffling resistance among Republicans in the House of Representatives to the $700-billion Wall Street bailout that every well-informed, sensible person in the country supported, The New York Times settled on populism. I know Palin is popular with her clique. I see her as I see all who only get strength from their crowd as a "climber". She may have once been a soccer mom, blah, blah, but apparently didn't like it because she's not driving the kids to soccer now. I don't understand her appeal. The soccer mom's and Joe Six Pack's I know are a few cents short of a dollar. Ok for casual conversation, but get into their head's and there's nothing there but fantasy and do not enter signs. Most of them have never been anywhere or done anything. I pity their kids, I pity the country if a soccer mom should be second in command.
